This just in from a private source, the USMC Recruiting office has been receiving multiple threatening, harassing calls. The unidentified caller has threatened to hurt recruiters, threatened to kill a recruiter and that Marine's family, and gone as far as promising to bomb the facility.

This is disturbing to hear that recruiters are still under attack in our country, even now as the War in Iraq is going so well that our troops are able to pull out of major cities and take up a more hands-off approach and allowing the Iraqis to defend their own cities. While it's a big step forward for our troops in Iraq, here at home some are still stuck attacking America and attacking our troops.

It's easy to shrug off threats like this, because our military men and women are so capable and brave, it's easy to say "oh they are tough guys or girls, they can defend themselves" but here on American soil our troops are in danger of attack by the very people they have sworn to protect? That's just sad. What kind of message does it send to our troops when they hear about this kind of stuff. While it's only a few bad apples that would call to threaten a recruiting station, we must stay on guard and denounce this type of incident IMMEDIATELY, and respond with a show of SUPPORT from the local community.

I hope that the people of Tonawanda hear about these incidents and respond with support for the Marines there, showing this would-be bomber that the community entirely condemns their threats of violence.
